A Memorial Scholarship Tribute
Memorial gifts to Arts For Healing are a meaningful and impactful way to honor and remember your loved ones, friends or colleagues by providing a way to help children, adults and seniors with a wide range of special needs who truly benefit from the effective intervention of creative arts therapies – music, art, dance and drama that we offer at Arts for Healing. Our goal is to never turn any family away due to inability to pay and our scholarship fund allows us to offer a sliding scale to those in need.
The Mandy Montanaro Scholarship Fund
Mandy was at one time a volunteer here at Arts For Healing and we are touched that her family choose to make our organization one of the two non-profits they would like to support in honor of her memory. The other organization is Horizons National also in New Canaan. Mandy is captured in the AFH video that was made back in 2010 to celebrate our 10th year anniversary. You can see it on our home page.
Born July 29, 1976, Amanda Dawn Montanaro (Mandy) died March 12, 2018 in her apartment in New Canaan, CT.
Mandy was open, kind, friendly, generous and highly intelligent, with a warm and ready laugh and a brilliant sense of humor. Her passions included art, acting, music, and spirituality. She was especially interested in teaching and helping children through the arts. Mandy touched the lives of all who knew her, and had a wide network of friends who will always be united by her memory and spirit. Her friends and family will miss her very much, but are sure she continues to spread her light even more than she did when in this world.
Growing up in Westport and New Canaan, Mandy attended New Canaan Country School, St. Luke’s, and The New School. She is survived by her mother, Judy Larson of New Canaan, CT, her father Richard Montanaro of Easton CT, her brother Christopher Montanaro and his wife, Kristi Montanaro and their little daughter, Stella, of Westport, CT, and her brother Nicolas Montanaro of Norwalk, CT.
