A Message From Our Chair

Dear Friends of Arts for Healing,

My road to Arts For Healing began when, as a parent of a child with autism, I started to search for therapies that would most benefit my son James.  When I found Arts For Healing, I knew right away that it was a special place that would help James to reach his individual goals and that we needed to fit this magical place into his busy schedule.  That was over a decade ago. Today James continues to love the time he spends at Arts For Healing and we have been able to witness his remarkable growth over the years. AFH has given James the creative opportunity, through art and music, to express himself in an atmosphere of comfort and acceptance. At times it has been his refuge. He has made improvements in his language, his confidence has grown, and he was able to discover a real talent for art.  Arts For Healing is a true gift and we continue to value all of the services offered and the talented, devoted staff.

As a way to give back, I became a member of the Board of Directors several years ago.  I am now honored to be the new Chair at Arts For Healing. The organization has recently taken on 5 new board members and there is a renewed sense of excitement as we continue to solidify the strategic plan that guides the organization and to strategize new ways to expand our services to reach more children and adults in need.  I look forward with excitement to supporting the important work at Arts For Healing that impacts so many people’s lives. Thank you for the opportunity to lead the board as we move forward in support of the individuals that we serve.

With Best Regards,

Emily Warren

Chair / AFH

Dear Miss Karen, As you know, I auditioned for the play Honk, Jr. at my school. Guess what -- I got the lead role of Ugly! I think all of my work in music and theatre at Arts for Healing really helped me do a good job at the auditions. So thank you for helping me so much over the past 8 years. I'm really excited. Love, Brian "Music can always be there when you need it."
