Dance Connections!

Our new dance program for children 4-9 years of age with Autism Spectrum Disorder, their siblings and friends, will incorporate the discipline of ballet for enhanced focus and attention, with movement activities that provide the opportunity for creative expression and self awareness. Six-Week Sessions – Mondays 1:30 pm -2:15 pm.

TheaterWorks on Grove:

TheaterWorks on Grove is a musical theater program for individuals of all ages with special needs. The weekly workshops foster socialization and self-expression through interactive musical and dramatic play experiences in a small group setting. Throughout the six-week course of workshops, participants improvise and work together to compose a musical play. Under the guidance of noted musician and performer Billy Ayres, participants play instruments, sing, act, choreograph movement, as well as design and construct scenery. Expressive and interpersonal skills are enhanced as participants explore and develop their own creative ideas in a supportive and nurturing environment. Participants of all abilities are welcomed. See our Program Calendar for dates and times.

Invaluable resources and skills can be gained by participants in musical theater:

  • language development and communication
  • self-awareness, self-expression and self-confidence
  • teamwork
  • creativity
  • movement skills
  • peer relationship-building

Saturdays: ages 5-9 at 9:15 am; for ages 9-12 at 10:30 am.
